The Lotus Code
Respected leader and author of many personal development books, Mark Yarnell, wrote what many call, the bible of network marketing, "The Lotus Code."
Part One
In part one Mark talks about the importance of personal development and how our business success is equal to our personal development.
He answers the question, what is The Lotus Code?
He answers the question, what is The Lotus Code?
Part Two
Personal development falls into this first category of thoughts. How are people integrating thoughts into their lifestyle? How willing are we to elevate our thoughts above what people expect?
"A leader is someone who consistently demonstrates what’s possible."
Part Three
Thoughts become words. The importance of regrooving the brain. Once you start talking about your elevated thoughts many will not buy it or believe it. You will start seeking out people who think alike.
Part Four
Thoughts and talk become habitual behavior. Anyone can achieve if they act long enough for those actions to become habitual behavior. As it goes in the world so goes it in network marketing. Hard work translates into success.
"Back in Missouri where I grew up, every night like clockwork, when the Frisco train pulled away, out came the old barking dogs. Even as a little kid I wondered why those barking dogs chased the train, but now I know: that’s just the nature of barking dogs. Network marketing is a lot like that. As soon as you pick a company that suits you and start building momentum, out come the barking dogs: the negative parent, the whining spouse, the untrained scientist with expert opinions, the cross-line person from the other company, the list broker who never built squat—all BARKING DOGS. Ignore them. Keep moving forward and you’ll leave them behind; focus on their barking and you’ll temporarily lose your momentum. Barking dogs chase trains. Let ‘em bark. Let’s roll!"—Mark Yarnell
Part Five
Once the teeter totter slides just a little bit past the fulcrum, you slide from habits right through perseverance to attainment. It's like a buttery slope. This is the most exciting part. This is when attainment of your goals gets easy.
Richard Bliss Brooke teaches this same philosophy, the first couple years is like pushing a small car up a hill (pictured below) until you reach the top of the hill, upgrade the vehicle, and finally jump in and and enjoy the downhill ride.

Business Tips from Mark Yarnell
1. The best prospects you will ever find are those who desire success more than they fear failure.
2. Never mistake activity for accomplishment. You cannot train your way to $100,000.
3. It’s impossible to dabble your way to the top in network marketing.
4. Every great networker was a lousy networker first.
5. In networking we get paid to do two things: retail products and recruit business partners. Spend 80 percent of your time doing that if you want to succeed.
6. The lifeblood of your organization is the new blood. Keep filling the pipeline or there will be a downtime.
7. Almost any tool will work, if you do!
8. One of the biggest mistakes you can make is trying to drag unmotivated people across the finish line.
9. You can’t say the wrong thing to the right person or the right thing to the wrong person.
10. It’s never a question of whether or not it can be done; the real question is whether it’s worth trying to do it.
